It is a recognized fact that training is a vital factor in ensuring job performance, limiting lawsuits and raising and maintaining the standards; therefore, training has always been a top concern and highest priority to SPSS. A large portion of corporate resources are spent in providing continuous training for our employees. As security companies and their officers step up to the plate and fill the void in service and response to the private sector, SPSS knows providing necessary training and increased standards is a must. Private security is assuming many functions normally done by law enforcement only, as such the officers must be trained to handle those types of circumstances and issues that arise with the increased responsibility and risk.

The State of Texas Private Security Board (regulating agency for security companies) charges each security company with the responsibility of training their own officers in all aspects of security. Yes, short courses are required by a licensed training facility to be able to carry a firearm, baton, pepper spray, but 98% of the officers training, to include continued education in the industry. Surprisingly, must be done by each individual guard company, and when left up to them, most are not doing it. Training an officer receives depends solely
on the experience and background of each individual owner/manager
of each company. A guard's performance or education in the
field will vary as the experience in each company is different.
In any other industry this would not be an issue, but in
a high-risk, high exposure/liability industry, with public
contact, arrests, along with criminal and civil liability
on the line each day, this should be a major concern to
all companies and clients as it is to SPSS. If the guards you're paying for have received
training from their company, wouldn’t it make sense
to contract with a company who has a lot of experience,
not just pulling guard or just administration, but actual
real world experience in both law enforcement, recent military
and professional security assignments?
The management team of SPSS has over 20 years of experience ranging from guard to patrol, bodyguard, K-9 protection dogs, supervision, consulting, fugitive recovery, and management of various security aspects. Along with Criminal Justice educational backgrounds and law enforcement backgrounds, several management members have served in the active military with deployments to Bosnia, Kuwait, and Iraq also participating in the "Global war against terrorism,” with well over 200 "real world" combat missions and experience. We are security experts who have dedicated our lives to the private and Government sector of security.

Our
dedicated training department has developed programs that
our prospective security officers can easily understand
and implement at your facility. SPSS’' in-house training
procedure is continually updated and the programs are designed
to keep up with today's ever changing security needs. The
training programs include general subjects as well as specialized
areas that relate to a particular industry or type of facility.
Our programs are designed to maintain the employee’s
interest as well as to provide them with information to
protect them and your facility. Classroom instruction, video
and various hands-on exercises are utilized to illustrate
the various areas covered.
