SPSS
upgrades website, Jan 2009
SPSS under goes a major
overhaul of website, making it the most in-depth and informative
site in the industry. Site also provides crime states for
citizens to see and track what and how their local police
departments are doing along with being a very informative
tool for anyone prior to purchasing a security service. Site
is still being updated in all areas, please come and visit
again. We know our competitors will bite this too, but you
saw it here first. |
 |
First
to add Mobile Data Base, Jan
2009 SPSS is the first
security company in the area that has developed a mobile data
base that officers can research prior records, pictures, case
numbers, client information, impounded vehicle information
along with prior call information. Some will use this idea
too, but you saw it here first! Just a fraction is shown on
our "SPSS IN ACTION" on this site (restricted version). |

ATX
works with SPSS security, Jan
2009 ATX Protection Security
(formerly known as S.I. Group Security), has contracted with
SPSS on a few joint projects, events, apartment complexes,
etc. We welcome their business and enjoy helping out. |

SPSS installs dash cameras in vehicles,
Jan 2009
SPSS saw a need for officer safety, and accountability
in the field. We offer our clients transparency of what goes
on during our patrol checks, offering a premium service and
another form of proof we were on your property patrolling
during the contracted times, and not “Ghosting”
like some of our competitors. Several competitors are now
trying to keep up with us by adding fake or non-operational
cameras. Any patrol company can write a report and shove it
under your door at the end of the night with no proof. Guard
Management Systems (Detex-time clocks) are all nice, but video
of us your property with GPS reports, simply blows them out
of the water! Once again we are the first to offer this service
to our clients in Austin, as a private security firm. |

SPSS
shares detailed service agreement with industry leaders,
Feb
2009
SPSS shares their in-depth and court
proven contract with ATX Protection Security among a few
other providers which is in use today, with some variation.
The first of its kind for
our industry and reviewed by legal experts, SPSS’
service agreement is currently under review by the Austin
chapter of A.S.S.I.T (as also indicated in a recent article
in the ASSIT magazine) to possibly become the first standardized
contract for the security industry, just as the TAA contract
is the standard agreement for all apartment complexes in
the state of Texas. The purpose was to help all security
contractors to ensure there is a good written standard/fair
contract in place and ensure they are paid as agreed along
with many other helpful items and legal provisions as well.
SPSS offers this to any security company whom wants one,
we have been able to secure 100% of all past due accounts
though its provisions and ensure that the security industry
is no longer the last vendor to be paid or left hanging. |

Mandatory
P.A.T.H. class, Feb
2009 SPSS establishes
and launches new mandate that all officers must attend the
P.A.T.H. course to continue employment with us. First of several
graduated this week from a local training school. P.A.T.H.
educates the security officer, while also reducing lawsuits
for the client and the company. Highly recommend course, which
all employees will be circulated through (scheduling willing).

Field
testing the Taser,
Feb 2009
After 100s of police departments have successfully
used and deployed the Taser for years now as another option
of a non-lethal form of force/defense, SPSS has elected
to field test them issuing them to selected supervisors
after training. Tasers are authorized for security by DPS,
and covered by the corporate insurance policy. In fact,
most insurance agencies would rather you carry a Taser than
a K-9 or firearm believe it or not. Tasers have been found
to be a very effective tool, establishing compliance/control
very quickly. |

Job
well done, very professional,
Feb
2009
Travis County Sheriff’s
Deputies commend SPSS officers for a job well done at a
Pflugerville, Texas location. Officers were commended on
resolving issues in a professional and efficient manner
at a high risk location. After taking on an account from
a prior security company, they were happy to see issues
are now handled in a fast and professional manner. |

GPS
Trackers added to patrol vehicles,
Mar
2009
Adding to our video systems in our patrol cars, SPSS security
adds a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) tracking system
to our patrol cars. We want to go above and beyond and offer
our clients additional assurance and proof we were there
as a premium service. SPSS realizes that the old “honor
system” is not working with security companies; Saying
they were there and were not. Many other systems can be
manipulated, but with cameras in our cars, and GPS tracking
it is fool proof. SPSS offer our clients transparency to
our activities; keep that in mind when shopping around for
the lowest bidder, they don’t offer this. |

Sheriff
uses SPSS/ATX video in case, Mar,
2009
Travis County Sheriffs
use ATX/ SPSS dash cam video as evidence in a multi felony
offense case against several suspects on a contracted property.
They were very impressed that “security” has
this level of technology and professional equipment at their
disposal, which aided them in the investigation. |

SPSS
starts green campaign, Mar,
2009
While cutting costs
without cutting service, we also lower the use of paper,
waste, monitor / reduce fuel consumption, and participate
in several recycling programs. Our move not only reduces
our foot print on the environment but saves SPSS and our
customers thousands of dollars each year. |

T.A.B.C.
commends SPSS,
Apr 2009
We were commended on running
a tight ship, and providing a safe environment for a client
during many inspections conducted by them. After we took
over from a prior guard service, they noticed incidents
have gone way down, professionalism went way up which has
lead to a major positive contribution to the client, customers,
and local law enforcement. |

Acknowledged
by Austin American Statesmen, Apr
2009
SPSS was acknowledged and awarded for providing support
and sponsorship to a reading and education program for Austin
area school children. The program was the NIE program developed
by the Statesmen. SPSS is proud to give back to the community
in which we serve. |

Acknowledged
again by Travis County Sheriffs, Apr
2009
After taking on a high threat level account from another
security agency, a Travis county area client was in jeopardy
of having his business shut down due to high number of incidents
and law enforcement calls to the location including receiving
bad press and warnings of dangerous conditions (all while
the other company was providing service there). SPSS having
been there for several months now, have provided a high
presence, controlled environment, safe place to enjoy, and
the client reports increase business sales now. Sheriff
deputies and supervisors advised their calls have dropped
there significantly, they have also stated " you guys
are professional, got your act together, and are doing a
great job here unlike the prior company." Our actions
allow law enforcement now to spend more time protecting
residents and businesses of Travis county than be focused
on one location each night, so everyone benefits with great
service. |

SPSS
switches now to all electronic reporting system,
May 2009
In our continued "Going Green" campaign we have
gone to an all electronic reporting system. This not only
maximizes patrol time out in the field, cuts cost, but also
eliminates the daily use of hundreds of sheets or paper.
Reports from the guards, supervisors, management are all
generated on computer and sent to each client electronically.
Clients receive professional and neat reports in a very
timely manner. |

SPSS
conducts and provides training for ATX protection security
staff, May 2009
SPSS management staff responded and conducted training at
ATX Protection Security’s office. SPSS shared and
provided many new techniques and tactics for today’s
pro-active patrol officer to include; Vehicle patrol, officer
safety, safe approach, use of light and sound discipline,
cover/concealment, procedures on trespassing and general
enforcement procedures and education. It was a very fruitful
learning experience. |

SPSS
Commends Officer, June
2009
SPSS commends officer for a job well done. While patrolling
an apartment complex in Austin at 3:00am which has had several
car break-in, Officer Wong observed and covertly approached
the car burglar while attempting to enter a resident's vehicle.
After a short foot chase, the suspect was detained by officer
Wong, and transported by APD. No damage or loss to the vehicle
and one less car thief out there. |

SPSS Commends Officer,
June 2009
SPSS commends officer for an outstanding job, fast
response, quick thinking, securing a crime scene and administering
First Aid. Officer Karioki was flagged down while on patrol
of a south Austin property by a victim of a stabbing.
He pursued the suspect on foot caught and arrested the
suspect, recovered the weapon, (knife) , administered
First-Aid to the victim , and secured the crime scene
until help arrived. The victim received treatment and
survived. Suspect booked into custody by APD. Another
example of the great training and professional officers
here at SPPS.

SPSS
increases and establishes a 100% quarterly drug test program,
June 2009
Going above and beyond what the state requires SPSS increases
and establishes a 100% quarterly drug test program. 99%
of our competition refuses to shed the expense of random
100% quarterly testing or turn a blind eye to it. We see
no other standard other than “zero tolerance”
at our company, as our clients are worth the extra piece
of mind and make our results available to our clients on
request-why won’t our competition do that? |

SPSS
upgrades light bars on all vehicles, Jul
2009
Continuing to stay up with the times and upgraded technology,
SPSS upgrades light bars on all vehicles to low profile LED
light bars providing for less battery drain, longer usage
with the engine off, increased visibility and durability.

SPSS
goes completely paperless on all reporting, Aug
2009
SPSS goes completely paperless on all reporting. SPSS offers
it’s employees and clients electronic reporting which
is faster but also saves the environment from the loss of
100s of trees cut down for daily paper use in the US. This
is possible through the use of electronic forms develop by
SPSS and also attached detailed GPS reports from the source,
the use of laptops, internet and a few advanced programs developed
for our company thousands cheaper than what police departments
pay all at the tax payers’ expense. |

SPSS
launches S.E.T. program, Dec
2009
SPSS has developed this program as another option or tool for
each client to utilize when needed for some quick, heavy-impact
on your property. Special Enforcement Team (S.E.T.) has
a mission to combat car theft, vehicle break-in issues, and
heavy criminal activity that is hammering every apartment
complex and business in Travis county and the surrounding
areas. As before we are the first to develop and implement
any such program in this area. |
